Enrollment Fee Increase Implemented for Fall 2009

The State budget, as signed by the governor on July 28, 2009, included an increase to all community college enrollment fees, including those at SRJC. This increase from $20.00 to $26.00 per unit is effective for all Fall 2009 course registrations, regardless of when you registered for the class.

If you registered for any classes prior to the implementation of the fee increase, your student account will be charged for the additional $6.00 per unit and you will be notified of your new balance by mail.  You may also log on to your MyCubby student portal and click on “Pay Fees” to view your new updated balance due.

FAQ's related to Fee Increase:

Why am I getting a Fee Increase Notice?

On July 28, 2009, the Governor signed a new budget passed by the Senate and Assembly that increased enrollment fees at all California community colleges, from $20.00 to $26.00 per unit effective with the Fall 2009 semester. This legislation mandates SRJC implement the fee increase for all enrollments for the Fall 2009 semester.

I already enrolled for my Fall classes and paid my fees in full - why am I getting an additional bill for fees?

Fees are determined by the legislature of the State of California and we were not able to implement the fee increase until the Governor signed the budget on July 28. Only then could we implement the fee increase and notify students of the additional amount due.

How will this affect my BOG fee waiver or my Financial Aid?

Your BOG fee waiver will cover this increase. Other fees due to SRJC will be deducted from your financial aid checks.

How can I pay this additional fee, and what is the deadline to pay the fees?

Ø       You may send a check to:

SRJC Accounting Office

1501 Mendocino Ave

Santa Rosa, CA 95401

Please include your Student ID number.

Ø      You may pay with your VISA/MasterCard by phone by calling the Accounting Office at (707) 527-4973. The Accounting Office is open Monday through Friday, 8am to 5 pm.

Ø      You may log in to your Cubby at www.santarosa.edu and pay with a Visa/MasterCard.

Ø      You may come to the Accounting Office to pay. The Accounting Office is located in Bailey Hall on the Santa Rosa Campus and Jacobs Hall on the Petaluma Campus.

The deadline to pay the fees remains the same - you must pay your fees at the time of registration, so additional fees are due and payable upon receipt of the "Notice of Fee Increase".

I am a Doyle Scholar.  Will my Doyle Scholarship cover this fee increase?

Refer to your award letter for your award amount, and then refer to your Doyle Program Guide for your payment schedule. Any fees due to SRJC will be deducted from your scholarship checks.

How will the enrollment fee increase impact a student enrolled in 12 units?

12 units x $20 per unit  =  $240.00

12 units x $26 per unit  =  $312.00

Enrollment fee increase    $  72.00

(This example does not include other fees incurred during registration, such as the health fee, student representation fee, parking, etc.)
